The Interconnected World of Statistics and AI
Recently, i read a comment from Aishwarya Srinivasan where she mentioned
"All AI models use statistics, but not all statistical models are AI"!
While this may seem glaringly obvious to those who are related or exposed to the tech world, there still seems to be a large population that is put off by these buzzwords.
When you see terms like "AI/ML", you get the feeling that the marketing guy for the product is not sure of the relationship and distinctions between these two fields and is simply hitting all the buzzwords he can, just to stay relevant. Plus, you have also seen many companies touting their "AI first" approach, trying to jump on the GenAI hype train while having absolutely nothing to do with GenAI.
Better yet, slap a chatbot on your webpage, and you are now "powered by GenAI"
So here's a short refresher on what these buzzwords mean and how they are related to each other!
